 Pastor Wyndell O. Banks, Sr. currently hosts the “Marvelous Light with Pastor Wyndell Banks” show on Brite Radio.  Pastor Banks’ outlook for ministry is based on 1 Peter 4:10, “As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.”  A gifted teacher, orator, and administrator, Pastor Banks utilizes his spiritual, legal, business, and financial knowledge in order to help Christians become good stewards in the Kingdom of God; and to become dedicated disciples of Jesus Christ.  As a Pastor, he believes that if the church becomes unified in study of the Word, breaking of break, fellowship, worship and prayer, as stated in Acts 2:41-47, then God will add to the church daily “such as should be saved.” 

Pastor Banks formerly served as Senior Pastor of the Marvelous Light Christian Worship Center in Beltsville, Maryland.  Prior to that, he served as Senior Pastor of the Hillandale Baptist Church in Adelphi, Maryland.  Prior to that he served as an Associate Minister at Metropolitan Baptist Church in Washington, DC under Senior Pastor Dr. H. Beecher Hicks, Jr.  While at Metropolitan, Pastor Banks served as an assistant to the Minister for Men and Youth, and also provided leadership and ministry support to various outreach ministries.  He was licensed at Metropolitan in March of 2003 and ordained in May of 2004.  He was active in a number of ministries, including the Men’s Ministry, the Street Ministry, and the Music Ministry, the liturgical dance ministry, and played trumpet with the Joyful Sound, the instrumental ensemble.  He has also served as an usher and assisted with the Kitchen ministry and the Children and Youth Ministry.  Pastor Banks has also served as Youth Pastor at the East Washington Heights Baptist Church in Washington, DC. 

Pastor Banks received his Bachelors of Science in accounting from Southern University in Baton Rouge, La. in 1987.  He received his Juris Doctorate from Howard University School of Law in 1990.  He also received a Masters in Religious Studies in 1999 and a Masters of Divinity from the Howard University School of Divinity in 2004.   Pastor Banks works as an Administrative Hearing Officer at housing authorities in Washington, DC and Maryland.

Pastor Banks serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the District of Columbia Baptist Convention.  In addition, Pastor Banks serves as a member of the Community Development Advisory Committee for Montgomery County, Maryland.  The Committee reviews and approves funding requests for the Federal Community Development Block Grant Program, and conducts public hearings to ascertain community development needs and citizen input.  Additionally, Pastor Banks is a member of the board of the Richard Wright Public Charter School in Washington, DC.
